HomeBishamon Festival and National Crying Sumo Tournament
A unique Shinto ritual that has been passed down since ancient times at Mikumano Shrine in Towacho to pray for the growth of children.
The wrestler carries a child between 6 months and 18 months old onto the ring, and as they call out "Yo-yo-yo," they bring their faces close together and the first one to cry loses.
Participants are invited from all over the country and the event is held every year during Golden Week in May. *For inquiries regarding participation, please contact the following:
