This festival has a history of over 430 years, and Hanamaki's traditional culture is in full bloom everywhere, including beautiful, elegant floats with flickering flames, majestic mikoshi portable shrines which have once held a world record in number, the Shishi Shishi Odori and Kagura Gongen Mai dances that have been passed down since ancient times, and the graceful Hanamaki Bayashi dance.
