"Hanamaki Night around the Stars" is a winter-only event where people all release lanterns with wishes inside into the night sky of Hanamaki.

The lanterns floating against the snowy, starry sky are beautiful and fantastical.
After participating in the event, please enjoy a special stay at Hanamaki Onsenkyo.

About the Lantern Launch
Sky lanterns are a type of hot air balloon that are widely seen in Asia, including Thailand and Taiwan. They have traditionally been used as a means of communication and for prayer ceremonies, but are now popular for their fantastical and moving sights.
