Usaji Pottery Studio is a workshop run by a husband-and-wife pottery studio with the mission of "creating a happy dining table."
Located right next to the Miyazawa Kenji Dowa Mura / Kenji’s School(Village of Fairy Tales), this pottery studio offers hands-on experiences using both hand-building and electric pottery wheels, making it suitable for beginners of all ages.
There are courses where you can create various types of vessels, such as dream lanterns, objects, and Jomon pottery, and you can also choose the glaze (color).
Rather than a teacher-student relationship, the atmosphere is one of enjoying pottery together as friends, so you can have a fun and lively pottery experience!

A pottery studio that had not been used for 10 years was renovated and opened as Pottery Experience Studio Usaji Kobo, in July 2017.
In the same building is the mountain hut Cafe Kuragake (owned by a different owner), where you can relax and enjoy nature all day long in the quiet forest.

There is also a direct sales shop next door where you can purchase pottery works at a discount.
